NATIONAL CRISIS:Women and Children Without Housing
Women and children without homes are not simply lost faces in a crowd; they are mothers. daughters, sisters, nieces, and friends. They scurry into the frightful night seeking safety and shelter. Without homes such as Sissa’s House, this crisis will persist for generations to come. Whether fleeing from abuse or transitioning from recovery programs, women are left without a home. Sissa’s House addresses this crisis head-on by providing resources to be sustainable. Our best-in-class resources provide a pathway to permanent housing and are supported by professional life skills counseling and professional development that leads towards a lifelong sustainable career.
Sissa’s House is a safe haven for vulnerable women with or without children who are overwhelmed and challenged beyond their means. Sissa’s House provides structured nurturing environments and homes for women by providing resources to help them become self-confident, self-supporting, and independent. Sissa’s House, with its Community Based Organizational partners, provides housing, life skills training, counseling, independence, and jobs.
- Housing | Provides housing for women with or without children coming from domestic violence, abuse, sex-trafficking, long-term recovery programs, and other toxic environments as they transition to permanent housing.
- Counseling | Provides applicable assistance and guidance for social and personal counseling support as necessary
- Life Skills | Provides life skills training such as establishing routines and structure, health and nutrition, financial literacy, music, art, and psychological and emotional skills leading to good coping and resilience.
- Independence | Provides the tools to become self-sufficient through structure, competency, and confidence.
- Job Training and Jobs | Provides interview skills training, job training and job placement
Sissa’s houses throughout Los Angeles and Ventura Counties are not just houses, they are Homes. At Sissa’s House we believe that when someone is hungry, we are to give them food, if they are thirsty we are to give them something to drink, and if they are a stranger we shall take them in. We need your generosity to help us help them.
Sissa’s House is opening its doors to those who want to help others. Your assistance through donations to meet this critical need for society’s most vulnerable will be returned many times over as you help them in their transition from homelessness to self-sufficiency, independence and permanent housing.
